So funny how the A-xs relates to this post.

So I'm playing 1/2$ NL and I see Ace Hearts Four Hearts and there's like 4/5 other limpers...

I limp for the MEASILY 2 bucks and comes down the BEAUTIFUL board of A-4-5! Two pair!

The small stack with about 60$ bets out 20$ - everyone folds to me and there's one guy behind me, the BB.

I smooth call hoping that the BB comes in also for the 20$ and he does. Turn is an Eight Clubs Small stack goes all in and without even thinking about it I instantly push all in to protect my heads up match against the small stack. I put him on AK/AQ/AJ, and to be honest I never even thought about what the BB was doing/had.

Ugh, well- he instantly called and flipped over the NUTS with 6-7 OFFSUIT!

1) I should have mucked the hand.
2) If I came in I should have came in RAISING!!!!
3) I didn't check the board to see what he could possibly have!!!!
Huge mis play on my part, and one big lesson(a 200$ lesson) Sad

So, question is...

COME IN RAISING OR DON'T COME IN AT ALL IN NL? and Limit for that matter- never want those blidns to get in free, cause ya never know when that 7-2 will pair itself!

I think your biggest error was number 3 - it's so easy to do granted, but always look out for consecutive cards, even off suit.

You may have been able to scare him off earlier before he knew he had the flush, but again you can't predict the cards, only the likelihood of them coming. 2 pair in that situation would have been enough to keep me in anyway.

You didn't check, and it cost you dearly. Even if you had, you should have raised harder earlier to try and get him to give up the pot early without a fight. Sure, you were unlucky to have that come down on the board, but... it did, so you know you've got to watch yourself.

Possibly, though I wouldn't take it too much to heart. It's easy to say afterwards, you should have checked the board, but not many players will even limp in with 6, 7 offsuit.

One to remember in future, and perhaps you could have raised harder? That's about all I can suggest, I wouldn't have put the hand down myself either.
