Hey tonight I played some Hold'em with 2 of my other friends. In the beginning I was kicking ass I was the highest stacked and everything. Then one of my friends got eliminated. So it was down to me and my other friend. He goes all in and I call and has a 6 9 offsuit and wins on a lucky river card FLUSH. After that I went down hill from there. We were playing who ever has the most chips at 11 will win or whoever is the last one standing with chips will win. So I keep getting delt really horrible hands, so I couldn't think of anything but table talk. I started going like "hey come on you pussy lets go bet why aren't you betting if I bet you scared to loose?, Aren't you a gambler" etc etc. So then he started to bet and I end up winning the last hand at 10:59 and I had a Q K and I won with a pair of Q's and I had the largest amount. I felt bad afterwards because I felt like the table talk wasen't necessary. Table talk is allowed and people do it all the time. I mean he was getting hands and laughing in my face about it. I felt bad about winning at the end because he was really pissed and I didn't feel that great about table talking my way to victory. What do you guys think about it ? I never table talk. I only table talked because I was desperate and running out of options. So what do you guys think about table talk. Please post. I think its part of poker.

In my opinion, table talk and poker do not go together. It's unsportsmanship-like and reflects on how low you're willing to go to get money.

However, table talk would be more suitable for a casino environment, where the objective is to get money from strangers around you. It has NO place in a friendly home game, especially among your FRIENDS. Don't endanger your relationship with your guy buddies over a poker game.

Personally I don't feel I was unsportsmanship like
I even asked him before we did the last hand if he wanted to split the pot. I said we don't even have to do this hand if you don't want. We can split the pot and we both walk away a winner and he said no so...yep

Really a nice way to talk to a friend.

How old are you honestly?Im not trying to put you down in anyway I really want to know.

Im guessing younger and picked it up off of T.V and started to play with your buddies. Which is fine.

Table talk is alright to a extent.

Ex.Telling someone your going to raise no matter what they do is fine.

But calling someone a pussy is Immature and If you dont watch it could end you up with a pop in the mouth.

We are also all very good friends. We kid around with each other and he knows I was kidding around and junk and I know he was kidding around when he trashed talked me. I wasen't serious yelling at him or something we were just joking around. Having a good time.

I cannot stand people like that - I'm of the mindset that I can ignore what is said, yet still happily reply with a few words of my own.

Although it may gain you an advantage, I would call it an "unfair" advantage which is tantamount to cheating. Sure it's about winning, but I don't disrespect anyone to that extent let alone friends.
