Just recently I have witnessed two different decisions made by two different people running the floor. I would like to know the correct call. With only two peolpe in the game, after the river card both players called. One person exposed both of his cards one being a queen of diamonds and the other being a jack of diamonds. The other person exposed only a queen of spades and threw both cards on the table in front of him not exposing the second card on purpose.

A few players on the table stated the cards where mucked because he threw his hand down only exposing one of the cards. The player who did this stated he knew it was a split pot so the second card didn't matter. The floor stated the cards were not mucked and a split pot was given.

The second occasion was again two people in the pot to the river. After the river the one player called the other. The flop was Six Spade Two (Duece) Hearts Two (Duece) Spade the turn Two (Duece) Diamonds . The player that called didn't have nothing. The river didn't matter.
But the one player had Ace Clubs Two (Duece) Clubs and only showed his two of clubs to the player that called and threw his hand in. The player that called declared the cards mucked. Again the floor was called and the floor person ruled that the cards were mucked.

What is the correct call.

Both cards must be shown! Period!!!!!!!! The reason so is about game security, so who cares if it matters in determining the winning hand. Show only one card and muck, dead hand no claim to the pot.

Throwing cards and only showing one is very disrespectful to the rules of the game, and that should have been made clear by the people running the floor - purposeful "mucking" of hands shouldn't be allowed, and as for the idiots with the best hand only showing one card, it would serve them right for losing their rights to the pot.

Surely that could be classed as a form of cheating? If so, I would have insisted the pot wasn't split and it all went to the other player.

You drop your cards, they bounce or whatever, even with the winning hand, you don't get the pot so neither should this guy. Not shown hence mucked - if they weren't shown and it was required, then it could even be considered cheating perhaps?...

I'd of stood up and made it known what I felt, then again someone like me always will The rules are cards that bounce or aren't shown when required are mucked, though if it is done intentionally then they should be taken outside and given a good slap.
