Hey All- please share your infinite wisdom on a particular play i made...

I was playing an extremely tight group (well, they were at first). and they were folding all the time. Anyhow, i'm dealt:
Ten Clubs Ten Diamonds

Flop comes:

Ace Hearts Ten Spade Ten Hearts .

yeah

Thing is, we had a bunch limp in, i think there were 6 or 7 of us, nobody raised ,(i probably should have, but i did horribly that night) so knowing this, i figured the Ace didn't help anyone, and i didn't want to scare anyone out by raising. i was BB.

So I check. so does everyone else (doh!). Turn is a rag, checks all the way around. River, another rag. Five Clubs i think. i go ahead and raise, hoping that people will suspect i'm trying to steal the blinds and call if not reraise me. the last time i did this a guy on the end did reraise me, i so i was hoping for it. only one caller came up, and i of course won the pot.

I was proud of myself for playing that hand with so much self control, knowing that everyone would fold...

but heres the thing, i was playing $3/6, and looking back... i'm thinking maybe i would have got more callers if i raised the $3 on the flop, then checked on the turn, then raised again on the river....What do you think?

all in all, i think i played this badly now. i think many more would have called the $3 on the flop rather than $6 on the river... especially since they could have hoped for more cards to come.

Bet this hand. One of the largest mistakes people make is not betting a hand becasue it is so big. But this hand, is a sure bet, lots of aces and draws possible out ther that will make a call that will never bet.

Definitely - with a pair on the board and an Ace, a lot of people would be looking at making 2 pairs or a full house, so you could have gotten away with raising slightly more in my opinion.

Good play though, and you took a reasonable pot for the size of the blinds so well done.
