It was a Sit and Go tourney which had 27,000 in chips (18 person tourney) and I was slightly in the lead for the showdown. Blinds were at 600/1200. I drew K,9 (not suited) in small blind and raised. I was reraised the minimum and figured what the hell I'll put him all in figuring him for A, and something small and I was right. He had A, 6 (not suited). I outdrew him and won but was this a foolish play?

Very hard to answer this one. Why don't you give us all of the information like the number of players left, your opponent's stack size, and his prior playing tendency.

If he had reraised minimum and only had a few chips left after that, then reraising him all in is fine. You are playing showdown poker with a hand you figured to be a 3 to 2 dog or maybe even a 6-5 dog. After you invested those chips you probably should not even fold 8-2 offsuit. There is very little downside in this situation.

Indeed, that was the right thing to do in my opinion - he had little in his stack and you had him. If he was feeling down and out then he would be looking to double up and with an A-something he always had the chance of a pair or similar with a high card in hand.

It worked, in which case I don't call it foolish.
